Terry's Rentals was founded in 1979 by Terry and Evelyn Gibbons, and was originally located on Cliff St. A few years later the firm moved to Haley Rd., and at that time Robert Newell joined the company as a partner.

In 1989 Robert bought the entire company, and ran the firm along with B&T Contracting until January 1998, when Jonathan & Mariette Hattie took it over at its present address of 101 Forest St.
